KUNST HAUS WIEN - MUSEUM HUNDERTWASSER

City : Vienna

Category : famous places

Description

The Hundertwasser Museum should not be confused with the Hundertwasser Haus which are two different places even if they are close to each other.
The Hundertwasser Museum was established in 1991 to exhibit works by Friedensreich Hundertwasser as well as other artists and non-permanent exhibitions such as photographs such as during our visit.
Apart from the works of the different artists, the building itself is a work of art. The colored facades, the bumpy floor, the original decoration. Besides, this building will remind you of another artist on the side of Barcelona.
Not far away you can also visit the Hundertwasser Haus which is a building in the same spirit as the museum but with accommodation, terraces and shops.
Friedensreich Hundertwasser is a contemporary artist and architect since he was born in 1928 and died in 2000. He left behind a very important and diversified work between paintings, architectures, and films. Moreover, he lived in several countries of the world.

Your comment

A visit to the Hundertwasser Museum or the Hundertwasser Haus must be part of your stay in Vienna as the artist's imprint on the city is important. Moreover these places bring a real difference compared to the buildings of the imperial era.
So in order not to miss any of the two Austrian painters, one must go to Hundertwasser to see the works of the artist of the same name and to the Belvedere Palace to see those of Gustav Klimt.
